Business Development Manager (Part Time)

Position
We are seeking a business development manager to interface with our distributors and major customers and bring on additional distributors and major customers.

Company Background
Next Advance designs, manufactures, markets, and sells biotechnology equipment at its facility in Troy, NY on Route 7, 15 minutes east of downtown Troy. We develop and manufacture products that help researchers worldwide develop new pharmaceutical drugs for diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Lyme Diseases, test cures for cancer, improve nutritional value of food, develop biofuels, study endangered species, and more. We are a leading provider of laboratory instrumentation and sell our products to research biologists throughout the world. We believe in teamwork, employees taking initiative and integrity.

Qualifications
Successful track record with sales and business development in a scientific industry. Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as computer skills. Strong desire to contribute to the growth of the company.

Requirements
The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Energetic, innovative, flexible, self-motivated, team player, passionate about solving problems and establishing relationships with distributors and customers
  • Superior communication, intuitive, social, interpersonal, problem solving, and situational leadership skills.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Takes initiative.
  • Self-directed, high energy with a keen ability to assess situations and devise creative solutions.
  • Detail oriented yet visionary; comfortable working collaboratively in a team-based, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Able to pitch in and help with any area of the company
  • Able to quickly become proficient with our products with in-house training

Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, your job responsibilities will include:

  • Grow sales with current distributors
  • Maintain relationships with major customers
  • Grow our distribution network
  • Bring on additional major customers
  • Other projects as assigned by management

Additional skills

The following skills would be beneficial but are not required:

  • Ability to run projects
  • A sense for marketing
  • Experience in the biotech industry

Compensation
A competitive compensation and benefits package is included. Salary is commensurate with skill level.
