Proven Results

DNA Extraction from Basil Leaf Using LYS2T-R and DNAmite Kits. Genomic DNA was extracted from basil leaf tissue using a two-step protocol involving mechanical homogenization followed by DNA purification. Approximately 50 mg of fresh basil leaf material was homogenized using the LYS2T-R Lysis Kit, a 2 mL Omni-equivalent bead-based disruption system provided by Next Advance, operated within the Bead Mill 24 homogenizer to ensure efficient cellular lysis and release of nucleic acids. The homogenized lysate was then subjected to DNA purification using the DNAmite Plant DNA Kit. The integrity and yield of the extracted DNA were assessed via agarose gel electrophoresis, wherein samples were run on a 1% agarose gel.

Soft Tissue – LYS2S Bead Lysis Kits. These kits are designed for homogenizing soft tissue samples such as brain. These kits contain 50 of 2 mL screw cap tubes filled with zirconium oxide beads. Certified RNase and DNase free.

LYS2S.  The LYS2S bead lysis kit is equivalent to the Precellys (Bertin) CK14, the MP Bio Lysing Matrix D, the Revvity / Omni 19-627, and the Qiagen 13113-50 kits. (Formerly part number LYSKITPC1)

Tough Tissue – These kits are designed for homogenizing tough, hard tissue samples such as muscle, heart and bone. These kits contain 50 of 2 mL screw cap tubes filled with zirconium oxide beads. Available in reinforced tubes. Certified RNase and DNase free.

LYS2T. The bead lysing kit LYS2T is equivalent to the Precellys (Bertin) CK28 and Qiagen 13114-50 tough tissue lysis kits. (Formerly part number LYSKITPC2)

LYS2T-R. Similar to the LYS2T, these kits use reinforced tubes. The bead lysing kit LYS2T-R is equivalent to the Precellys (Bertin) CK28-R, Revvity / Omni 19-628 and Qiagen 13114-50 tough tissue lysis kits. 

LYS2T28. The bead lysing kit LYS2T28 is equivalent to the Revvity / Omni 19-636 insects kits. Each prep contains some very fine ceramic beads for lysing tiny cells and some larger ceramic beads for pulverizing the insects. Note that these kits are RNase & DNase free, but not microbial DNA free.

Soft and Tough Tissue – These kits are designed for homogenizing soft and tough tissue samples. These kits have 50 of 2 mL reinforced, screw cap tubes filled with zirconium oxide beads. Certified RNase and DNase free.

LYS2GRG-R. The bead lysing kit LYS2GRG-R is equivalent to the MP Bio Lysing Matrix A, Precellys (Bertin) GK60, Revvity / Omni 19-624, Qiagen 13123-50  lysis kits. It is excellent for wet or dry grinding or lysing most tissues. Each prep contains garnet flakes and a large, high density, ceramic bead. 

LYS2ST-R. The bead lysing kit LYS2ST-R is equivalent to the Precellys (Bertin) CKMix and Revvity / Omni 19-629  lysis kits. It is a blend of the LYS2S and LYS2T kits.

Microogranisms – These kits, designed for disrupting cell cultures, contain 50 each of 2 mL tubes containing glass or ceramic beads. Certified RNase & DNase free.

LYS2B1. Designed for disrupting bacteria cell cultures, the LYS2B1 bead lysing kit is equivalent to the Precellys (Bertin) CK01 and Revvity / Omni 19-623 kits. These preps use  high density, inert, ceramic beads. (Formerly LYSKITPC01)

LYS2B5. Designed for disrupting tough bacteria cell cultures, the LYS2B5 bead lysing kit is equivalent to the MP Bio Lysing Matrix K and the Revvity / Omni 19-631 kits. These preps use  high density, inert, ceramic beads.

LYS2M1. Designed for disrupting microorganism cultures, the LYS2M1 bead lysing kit is equivalent to the Precellys (Bertin) VK01, Revvity / Omni 19-621, and Qiagen 13118-50 and kits. These preps contain glass beads. (Formerly LYSKITPG01)

LYS2M5. Designed for disrupting tough microorganism cultures, the LYS2M5 bead lysing kit is equivalent to the Precellys (Bertin) VK05, Revvity / Omni 19-622, and Qiagen 13116-50 and kits. These preps contain glass beads. (Formerly LYSKITPG05)

Grinding – These kits are designed for grinding samples, such as seeds, grains, and hard tissue. Each kit contains 50 preps of high density beads, either stainless steel or inert ceramic, in reinforced 2 mL screw cap tubes. Certified RNase and DNase free.

LYS2GRS3-R. Designed for grinding hard tissues including muscle, skin, bone, teeth, hair, and seeds and grains. This kit is a high-performance solution equivalent to the Precellys (Bertin) MK28-R, Revvity / Omni 19-620, Qiagen 13117-50 and MP Bio Lysing Matrix S kits. These preps contain high density stainless steel balls. 

LYS2GRZ5-R. Designed for lysng organs and grinding dry grains, this kit is equivalent to the Precellys (Bertin) CKMix50-R kit. These preps contain inert zirconium oxide, high density beads. 

LYS2GRZ7-R. Designed for dry grinding of hard tissue, rice and pepper grains. This kit is a high-performance solution equivalent to the Precellys (Bertin) CK68-R kit. These preps contain inert zirconium oxide, high density beads. 

LYS2S48-R. Designed for grinding seeds and hard tissues, this kit is a high-performance solution equivalent to the Revvity / Omni 19-635 kit. These preps contain a high density stainless steel ball. 

Soil Kits– These kits are designed for disrupting bacteria in soil and other complex matrix samples. Each kit is a pack of 50 preps. Certified RNase & DNase free.

LYS2M4. This kit is a high-performance solution equivalent to the Precellys (Bertin) SK38 kit. Each prep consists of a 2 mL screw-cap tube, pre-filled with a combination of inert beads to ensure thorough sample disruption.
